There’s a reason the MultiComp has been sitting on pedalboards since 1998 and earned Hall of Fame status at some of the biggest online retailers — it just works, on bass or guitar, in the studio or under stage lights. Once you’ve felt what it does to your low end, going back to an uncompressed signal feels wrong.
EBS built this thing around the idea that compression shouldn’t be a science project. Dial in your Comp/Limit level, set the Gain, and pick your flavor: Normal, Multi Band (MB) for true dual-band control across your frequency range, or Tubeism for a warmer, tube-like squeeze. Three knobs, three modes, done. Want to dig deeper? There’s an Active/Passive switch on the side and an internal trim pot for Threshold if you need to get surgical.
The current Studio Edition carries forward decades of refinement: an optimized signal path, redesigned relay-based switching, protection against over-voltage up to 18V, and flexibility to run on anything from 9-12V DC. Earlier updates from 2008 already bumped headroom by 3dB and added true bypass, lower noise, and more sensitive analog circuitry — this pedal has been quietly evolving while staying true to its original mission.
