G&L shrunk the scale down to 30″ without shrinking the attitude, giving you a compact, punchy bass that’s genuinely easy on the hands during long sets or practice marathons. If you cut your teeth on a full-scale instrument, the transition here is painless – the low end still hits hard, it just feels friendlier under your fingers.
The heart of this bass is a single G&L Magnetic Field Design humbucking pickup, but don’t mistake that for a one-trick setup. A 3-position mini-toggle switches between parallel, split, and series wiring – the same configuration found on the classic L-1000 – so you can dial in anything from a snappy, split-coil vintage tone to a fuller, growlier modern voice. That kind of tonal range from one pickup makes this bass surprisingly versatile for session work, covers, or whatever style your band throws at you.
Built with an Alder body, bolt-on Maple neck, and a Caribbean rosewood fingerboard, the Fallout stays light, resonant, and stable on the road. A Saddle-Lock Bridge keeps your intonation solid and your sustain honest, while G&L’s Ultra Lite tuners help balance the instrument and keep headstock dive in check.
