Description
Some basses chase trends. The LB-100 doubles down on what already works, then quietly makes it better. This Fullerton Deluxe edition pairs an alder body with a matched pickguard for a clean, purposeful look, and tops it off with G&L’s Clear Tint Satin neck finish for a smooth, worn-in feel right out of the case.
Under the hood, that “holy grail” Alnico split-coil pickup delivers the thick, punchy low end and vocal midrange bassists have chased for decades — the tone that sits perfectly in a mix without fighting for space. But G&L didn’t stop at nostalgia. The slim hard-rock maple neck wears a vintage gloss finish over a 9 1/2″ radius, with Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets that make fast lines and fat vibrato feel effortless. Down at the bridge, Leo Fender’s own Saddle-Lock design anchors string energy straight into the body’s end-grain, giving the whole instrument extra resonance and sustain you can feel through the strap.
Available configurations:
- Jet Black over Alder, 3-ply parchment pickguard, Maple fingerboard
- Fullerton Red over Alder, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- 3-Tone Sunburst over Alder, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, Maple fingerboard
Every LB-100 is built in the historic G&L facility on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California — the same ground Leo Fender worked on since founding G&L in 1980. If your gig calls for dependable low end with real vintage soul, this is a bass built to earn its spot on the truck.
