Think of the MCT375 as a second gear for your Bartolini-equipped bass. It’s built to work alongside the NTCT, NTCT-B, NTCT-H, or NTCT-LZ preamps, adding a focused low-mid push and an extended treble shelf that the stock circuit doesn’t offer on its own.
The magic is in the detent. Center click is neutral. Roll the Mid knob counterclockwise from that click and you’re cutting low mids around 400 Hz — handy for scooping out mud when you’re stacked next to a guitarist or fighting a boomy room. Push clockwise past center and you get the opposite move: a rise around 375 Hz that fattens up the low-mid body of your tone, paired with a treble boost that spans 2kHz to 15kHz for extra clarity and pick/finger definition up top.
That combination is what makes this module useful on stage — you’re not just adding volume, you’re reshaping where your bass sits in the mix. Slap players get more snap and articulation, fingerstyle players get more growl and presence, and anyone cutting through a busy band mix gets a tone that doesn’t disappear.
