Description
Every bassist who’s tried a guitar chorus knows the problem: gorgeous shimmer on top, but your low B or E turns into a wobbly, undefined swamp. EHX built the Bass Clone specifically to fix that. It shares the same core circuit as the legendary Small Clone, but adds a Crossover switch that strips low frequencies out of the modulated signal before it blends back in. The result is chorus that swirls and breathes up top while your fundamental stays rock-solid and articulate underneath.
- Crossover switch keeps the low end out of the modulation path for tight, defined bottom
- Treble control shapes the full blended signal
- Bass control works on the dry signal only, giving you independent low-end shaping
- Together, Treble, Bass, and Crossover let you dial in exactly how much shimmer sits on top of your fundamental
- True bypass preserves your tone completely when the pedal’s off
- Rugged die-cast enclosure built for the gig bag and the road
- Runs on the included 9V battery, or an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter (not included)
Whether you’re after a subtle widening effect for chord work or a deeper, more pronounced wave for ambient lines, the Bass Clone gives you chorus that actually respects the low end. It’s a small, tough box that solves a real bass problem — not a guitar pedal wearing a bass label.
Specs: Analog circuit, true bypass, mono, 15mA current draw, 4.5 x 2.75 x 2.1 inches.
