Description
Rewiring a Jazz Bass yourself is one of those jobs that separates the players who tinker from the players who just want their rig sounding right before soundcheck. This Emerson kit skips the trial-and-error — it’s fully prewired, tested, and ready to drop into your control cavity.
- Three CTS 250K solid-shaft potentiometers (.250″ shaft) — the standard smooth-taper feel Fender-style basses are known for
- Switchcraft 1/4″ mono output jack for a solid, long-lasting connection
- 0.047uf Emerson Custom paper-in-oil capacitor for warm, vintage-voiced tone shaping
- Volume mod included
- Wiring diagram included so you’re not guessing which lug goes where
Everything is wired with 22 AWG vintage-style push-back wire, which keeps the build looking period-correct while staying flexible enough to work with in a tight cavity. The connection at the input jack is soldered and covered in heat-shrink insulation, so it won’t rattle loose or short out after a few hundred load-ins.
One heads-up for owners of import-spec basses: if your pickguard was drilled for metric pots, you’ll likely need to ream the holes slightly to fit these US-spec pots, and you may need US-spec knobs to match the larger shafts.
Good for players upgrading a budget J-Bass’s electronics, restoring a project bass, or just tired of scratchy pots cutting out mid-set.
