Description
Left-handed bassists know the drill: too often you get a scaled-down afterthought instead of the full instrument. Not here. This American Professional Jazz Bass in Sonic Gray is built ground-up for southpaws, delivering the same speed, snap, and midrange growl that made the Jazz Bass a funk and fusion staple since 1960.
The alder body and gloss poly finish keep things classic, while the slim “Modern C” maple neck puts a fast, comfortable grip under your fretting hand. Narrow-tall frets let you bend into pockets and chord up the neck without fighting intonation, and Posiflex graphite rods embedded under the rosewood fingerboard keep that neck stable through climate swings, van rides, and stage lights.
Tone comes from a pair of Michael Bump-designed V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups – alnico-loaded and voiced to blend vintage warmth with enough output to cut through a mix. The HiMass vintage-style 4-saddle bridge adds low-end stability and sustain, and the new fluted-shaft tuning machines improve break angle over the bone nut for tighter windings and steadier tuning on the gig.
