Michael Bump’s V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups sit in the bridge and neck positions, blended through the classic dual-volume-plus-master-tone layout. The alnico magnet mix keeps the vintage warmth intact but pushes more output, so you get punch without losing the midrange snarl that separates a Jazz Bass from everything else on the market.
Playability gets real attention here too. Narrow-tall frets make bends and up-neck chord work land cleanly, the 9.5″ radius board keeps things fast, and Posiflex graphite rods run under the fingerboard to fight neck movement caused by weather, humidity, or a van with bad climate control. Fluted-shaft tuning machines pull the string windings down tight for a cleaner break angle over the bone nut – less tuning drift between sets, more time actually playing.
