Under the Sonic Gray finish sits an alder body paired with a maple neck in a slim “Modern C” profile that lets your hand move fast without fatigue, whether you’re locking into a pocket groove or running fusion lines up the neck.
The heart of the tone comes from the V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, designed by pickup specialist Michael Bump using a specific mix of alnico magnets. They’re voiced to keep that vintage Fender warmth intact while adding more output and clarity when you dig in. Narrow-tall frets make note bends and chord work up the neck feel natural and stay in tune, while Posiflex graphite rods embedded in the neck keep things stable through temperature swings on tour or under stage lights.
Fluted-shaft tuning machines improve the break angle over the nut for tighter string windings and better tuning stability, and the vintage-style HiMass 4-saddle bridge adds sustain and a classic look. A bone nut rounds out the build for clean, accurate string response.
