Bassists know weight matters twice: once in the tone, once in the load-in. The Bassman 800 gives you both ends of that equation right — a tube-driven preamp feeding a Class D power section, all crammed into a chassis that barely tips the scale at 17 lbs.
Two footswitchable channels (footswitch included) cover very different personalities. Vintage runs through a passive tone stack that cuts rather than boosts, so you get that woody, thick-in-the-middle Fender growl without any harsh top-end fizz — the kind of tone that just sits right in a mix. Flip to Overdrive and a pair of 12AX7 tubes get pushed into genuine grit, shaped by an active 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid frequency and a blend knob, so you can dial in anything from a subtle push to full-on snarl.
Behind those two channels sits a solid-state power amp rated at 800 watts RMS into 4 ohms — enough headroom to keep your low B tight and undistorted even when you’re digging in hard.
Round back, it’s set up like a real workhorse: a pro XLR line out with level control, pre/post EQ switching, ground lift and Silent Recording make it studio- and DI-friendly, while a tuner out and effects loop give you room to build a proper rig. Combo jacks accept speakON (2- and 4-pole) or standard 1/4″ cables, so hooking up whatever cab you’ve got isn’t a hassle.
Pair it with a Bassman Pro Neo cabinet and you’ve got a rig that’s light enough to carry in one trip but hits like it weighs three times as much.
