This Deluxe Active Precision Bass Special is built for the bassist who refuses to be boxed into one tone. Fender blended the low-end authority of a split-coil P pickup with the cutting Vintage Noiseless Jazz bridge pickup, so you can lock into a foundation-shaking groove or peel off a bright, articulate lead line without swapping instruments. The active/passive switch gives you two distinct personalities in one bass — vintage passive warmth when you want it, modern three-band active EQ punch when you need to cut through a dense mix.
An alder body and maple neck with a Pau Ferro fingerboard keep the feel familiar and comfortable, while the 12" radius and medium jumbo frets make fast runs and big bends equally easy. The 4-saddle HiMass bridge adds real sustain and rock-solid tuning stability, something every working bassist appreciates after a long night of load-in, soundcheck, and set.
