The Player Jazz Bass V keeps everything that makes a Jazz Bass a Jazz Bass – the punchy midrange, the growl, the fast neck – and stretches it across five strings so you’ve got the range for modern gigs.
The alder body carries two Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil pickups, each with independent volume plus a shared master tone, so you can blend or isolate for anything from a round, woody thump to a biting, aggressive snarl. The Modern C-shaped maple neck has a 9.5″ radius and 20 medium-jumbo frets, keeping the low B tight and playable instead of floppy or hard to fret cleanly – a common complaint on cheaper 5-strings. A wider 1.875″ synthetic bone nut gives the extra string room without cramping your hand.
Fine-tuning your setup is easy thanks to the 5-saddle vintage-style bridge, which lets you dial in intonation and action string by string. Rounding out the build: a 3-ply parchment pickguard, vintage-style disc string trees, open-gear tuners, and the four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that marks it as genuine Fender lineage rather than a knockoff riding on the name.
Finished in Polar White over a gloss polyester body with a satin-neck feel, this is a workhorse 5-string meant for stage and studio alike – built to handle whatever range your setlist demands.
