Description
Every bassist needs that first real Jazz Bass, and the Squier Affinity delivers the tone and feel without the intimidating price tag. Two single-coil Jazz Bass pickups give you that scooped-mid, punchy-low-end character that’s defined countless recordings — dial in the bridge pickup for aggressive slap cut, blend toward the neck for warmer fingerstyle work, and shape it all with the master tone control.
The alder body keeps things resonant and lightweight for long sets, while the maple neck’s satin urethane finish and slim “C” profile let your hand move fast up and down the 34″ scale. The Indian laurel fingerboard is smooth under the fingers and holds up to sweaty gig conditions, with a 9.5″ radius that makes chords and runs feel natural whether you’re playing root notes on a Sunday service or grinding through covers at a bar.
20 medium jumbo frets give plenty of range, and the synthetic bone nut plus standard open-gear tuners keep tuning stable set after set. A 4-saddle bridge with chrome hardware rounds out a build that’s straightforward to maintain and easy to trust on stage.
