Description
If you’ve ever felt like your P-Bass was holding back on you, this is the fix. Fender engineer Michael Bump built the V-Mod Precision Bass pickup set to squeeze every bit of character out of the classic split-coil format, using a proprietary blend of alnico magnet types tailored to each individual position rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
That position-specific voicing matters more than it might sound like on paper. Each half of the split coil is calibrated to work together, giving you a balanced, punchy low end with articulate mids that cut through a band mix instead of getting buried in it. Whether you’re locked into a pocket groove, digging in for something more aggressive, or rolling off the tone knob for old-school thump, these pickups respond the way a good P-Bass should.
Built for drop-in installation into standard Precision Bass routing, this set is calibrated to perform well in any configuration you throw at it – stock wiring, passive tone shaping, whatever your rig calls for. It’s a straightforward upgrade path for players who want more voice and character out of their bass without changing anything else about how it plays.
