Not everyone’s fingers span a 34″ scale comfortably, and the Minion JS1X exists for exactly that reason. Jackson took the Concert Bass shape and shrunk the scale down to 28.6″, making it a genuinely good option for younger players, smaller-framed bassists, or anyone who wants a travel-friendly axe that doesn’t feel like a toy.
The poplar body keeps things light on the shoulder, and the growl comes from a Jackson P style neck pickup paired with a Jackson J style bridge pickup – that classic P/J split gives you thump from the neck position and bite from the bridge, blendable via the twin volume knobs and single tone control. It’s a versatile setup whether you’re locking in behind a drummer or cutting through a mix that needs some edge.
The one-piece bolt-on maple neck has graphite reinforcement rods running through it for extra stability, topped with a 12″ radius amaranth fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets, and pearloid sharkfin inlays for fast, comfortable playing up and down the neck. A hardtail bridge with a black base plate and Jackson-branded sealed die-cast tuners round out the hardware, all finished in black to match the satin black body.
