Description
If you love the Jazz Bass sound but want more push behind it, the SJB-2 set is the move. Seymour Duncan built these single-coils on the same blueprint as their Vintage Jazz pickups, then wound the coils hotter and more aggressive to fatten up the midrange. The result is a punchier, more forward tone that holds up under pop, blues, classic rock, and heavy rock playing — plenty of grit when you dig in, without losing the growl that makes a Jazz Bass a Jazz Bass.
This is a matched neck and bridge pair, calibrated together so output stays balanced across the fingerboard. The neck pickup runs slightly narrower, and both are reverse-wound/reverse-polarity relative to each other, so running them together kills hum the way a proper Jazz Bass set should. Want more control over your tone shaping? These pair well with Seymour Duncan’s STC-2 or STC-3 tone circuits if you’re looking to dial things in further down the road. Each pickup comes with its logo cover installed.
To get your bass gig-ready right out of the box, this bundle throws in a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky Bass strings (2834). Made in the Coachella Valley from top-shelf raw materials, these strings deliver a bright, balanced voice that plenty of touring and recording bassists rely on night after night. Gauges run .045, .065, .080, .100 — a versatile spread for players who want snap and clarity across the neck.
