Description
If the Hot Jazz set is too polite for what you’re chasing, the SJB-3 pushes further. This is a true single-coil design built for players who want more shove behind every note without losing the snap that makes a Jazz Bass a Jazz Bass. Blues, classic rock, garage, heavy rock, classic metal, nu-metal — the SJB-3 was voiced for players digging in hard.
Quarter-inch pole pieces and dense winding give the SJB-3 its backbone: strong attack up front, sustain that doesn’t fall off a cliff, and enough output to shove your amp into character without a boost pedal. The bridge (SJB-3B) and neck (SJB-3N) are calibrated together as a matched set, with the neck pickup built slightly narrower to sit right under the strings. Wiring is RW/RP, so running both pickups together cancels hum instead of adding it. Each pickup ships with its logo cover installed.
- True single-coil Jazz Bass pickup set
- Calibrated neck/bridge pair, RW/RP for hum cancellation
- Quarter-inch pole pieces, intense winding for output and attack
- Logo covers included
- Pairs well with STC-2 or STC-3 Tone Circuits for extra tonal shaping
Bundled in with the pickups: a set of Ernie Ball 2835 Extra Slinky Bass strings. Wound for a bright, balanced voice, these strings are made from freshly sourced materials in California’s Coachella Valley and used by a long list of touring bassists. Gauges run .040, .060, .070, .095 — a lighter-feel set that lets the SJB-3’s aggression come through without fighting your fretting hand.
