Description
If the standard Hot Jazz pickups aren’t hitting hard enough, the SJB-3 Quarter Pound set is built for the bassist who wants more shove behind every note. These are true single-coils, not stacked humbuckers, so you get that raw, aggressive Jazz Bass growl rather than a scooped-out hum-canceling tone. The quarter-inch pole pieces pull harder on the strings, driving the coil harder and giving you thicker output, sharper attack, and sustain that just keeps rolling.
This makes it a natural fit for players working in blues, classic rock, garage, heavy rock, classic metal, or nu-metal territory — anywhere you need the low end to cut through a dense mix instead of getting buried.
You get a calibrated neck and bridge pair right out of the box, no guesswork on matching output between the two. The neck pickup is slightly narrower to sit correctly under the strings, and the neck coil is wound reverse-wound/reverse-polarity so the two pickups cancel hum together when blended. Want more control over shaping that output? Pair this set with an STC-2 or STC-3 Tone Circuit for extra tonal shaping. Each pickup ships with its logo cover installed.
