Description

Not every bassist wants to think about active electronics before a gig. The SSB-4N Phase 2 Soapbar gives you a passive route back to simple, natural tone — warm, punchy, and reactive to your hands the way passive pickups have always been. Drop it into passive volume and tone controls and let the wood and strings do the talking, or pair it with Seymour Duncan’s STC-2p or STC-3p Tone Circuit if you want active EQ shaping (2 or 3 band) plus a slap contour switch on tap for stage flexibility.

This is the neck pickup from a calibrated neck/bridge set, built as a direct replacement for EMG 35 or 40 soapbars — so most basses take it without routing or modification. The full-length dual blade design covers string spacing up to 2.70 in. (68.5mm), which keeps it usable across a wide range of 4-string setups.

  • Passive soapbar pickup, moderate output
  • Neck position, part of a calibrated 4-string neck/bridge set
  • Direct swap for EMG 35 or 40 footprint — typically no body modifications needed
  • Full-length dual blade construction, max string spacing 2.70″ (68.5mm)
  • Works with passive controls or Seymour Duncan STC-2p/STC-3p active tone circuits

If you’re chasing the round, grounded low end and straightforward punch of a passive pickup — without giving up the soapbar form factor your bass was built for — this neck unit is built to deliver exactly that, night after night.
