Description
If you’ve ever wanted more shaping power out of your Music Man style bass without hacking apart your control cavity, the STC-3M4 is built for exactly that. It’s Seymour Duncan’s 4-knob take on the classic Stingray tone circuit, arriving as a complete prewired harness so you’re not stuck troubleshooting solder joints between sets.
The layout gives you independent bass, treble, and midrange controls plus a master volume – and that volume knob does double duty. Pull up on it and you engage a dedicated slap EQ contour, voiced to keep your pop-and-slap lines punchy and defined instead of clanky. Two small trim pots on the board let you fine-tune that slap voicing to taste, so it fits your playing rather than a factory preset.
Tonally, the circuit covers a lot of ground. Treble stays smooth and articulate even when pushed hard – no brittleness. Bass response is deep and controlled without turning to mud. The midrange sweeps from vintage-smooth to aggressive and punchy, giving you real flexibility for different songs and stages.
- Prewired 4-knob harness: volume w/ pull-up slap switch, concentric bass/treble, and midrange
- High-quality potentiometers, stereo output jack, and battery clip included
- Black anodized, knurled dome-style knobs and all mounting hardware included
- Runs on a single 9V battery (wire two in series for extra headroom)
- Built for a standard 2-coil Music Man style single pickup – pairs great with Seymour Duncan’s Music Man replacement pickups
Fits any bass with room for 4 knobs and a 9V in the control cavity – not just Stingrays. One important note: this is designed around a 2-coil pickup and will not behave correctly with a 3-coil Sterling-style pickup.
