Description
The RAY4 takes the StingRay recipe that’s driven basslines for decades and puts it within reach of gigging bassists who need tone without the vintage price tag. A single ceramic humbucker drives a 9v active preamp with 2-band EQ, giving you enough punch and clarity to cut through a busy mix or lock into a pocket with a drummer, whichever the gig calls for. The Walnut Satin finish over basswood keeps the look understated and stage-ready, while the matte texture won’t show fingerprints under hot lights the way gloss does.
Up the neck, a hard maple neck paired with a Jatoba fingerboard gives you a firm, articulate feel under your fretting hand, with 21 medium frets and black/white dot markers for quick reference in dim venues. The 1.5″ nut width and 9.5″ radius keep the neck comfortable for both fingerstyle runs and pick work, and the 6-bolt neck attachment ties everything together for solid sustain and stability.
A fully adjustable heavy-duty fixed bridge lets you dial in intonation and action to your playing style, and open-gear tuners keep string changes straightforward. This is a bass built for practical use night after night, not a showpiece for the wall.
