Description
The RAY4 brings the DNA of the original StingRay bass down to earth without watering down what makes that bass legendary. At the heart of it is a single ceramic humbucker feeding a 9v 2-band active preamp, so you get that punchy, aggressive low-end thump along with enough top-end bite to cut through a dense mix. This is the tone that’s driven funk, rock, and everything in between for decades.
The basswood body keeps things light for long gigs, while the hard maple neck and matching maple fingerboard deliver a snappy, articulate feel under your fingers. A 9.5″ radius and 1.5″ nut width make fast lines comfortable whether you’re playing fingerstyle or slapping. The 34″ scale and 21 medium frets are stock territory for a working bass — familiar, dependable, and built for real playing hours, not just showroom shine.
Underneath it all, a heavy-duty fixed bridge and 6-bolt neck attachment keep everything locked in tight, so your tuning stability holds up through aggressive playing. Open gear tuners give you smooth, precise adjustments on the fly.
