The XJ-1T takes the Jazz Bass blueprint every bassist grew up loving and refines it into something built for working players. Under the classic 3-Tone Sunburst finish sits a full alder body paired with a 21-fret maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, finished in oil for a fast, natural feel under your hand.
Where this bass really separates itself is the electronics. Xotic’s 18V 3-band preamp gives you real control over your low end – vol, balancer, tone, plus 3-band EQ with a mid and bright switch and output gain control, so you can dial in everything from a thumping vintage growl to a modern, cutting slap tone without reaching for a pedal. An HRI (Hum Reduction Inductor) is built in to keep things quiet on stage. The Xotic JB pickups deliver that classic Jazz Bass punch with more clarity and headroom than you’d expect.
Hardware choices show the same attention to feel and reliability: Hipshot UltraLight tuners for quicker headstock response, a Type-A brass bridge for solid sustain, a pure bone nut, Jescar #6150-type frets, and a Gotoh strap button so it stays put through a long set. Luminova position markers keep you oriented on dim stages, and a custom-shaped pickguard rounds out the look.
