Description
The XJ-1T takes the Jazz Bass blueprint every bassist knows and hands it to Xotic’s electronics team, and that’s where things get interesting. Underneath the familiar alder body and 21-fret maple neck with an oil-finished rosewood board sits a genuinely deep control set: volume, pickup balancer, tone, a full 3-band EQ with mid and bright switching, and an output gain control that gives you real headroom to shape the low end before it hits the amp.
Powering all that is Xotic’s own 18V bass preamp paired with Xotic JB pickups, plus a built-in HRI (Hum Reduction Inductor) to keep the noise floor quiet when you’re pushing the gain. Jescar #6150-type frets and a pure bone nut keep the playing feel precise, while Luminova position markers on the fretboard mean you’re not fumbling for your spot on a dark stage.
Hardware is dialed in for stability and feel: Hipshot UltraLight tuners keep the headstock light and the tuning solid, a Type-A brass bridge adds sustain and low-end definition, and a Gotoh strap button rounds out the chrome-finished hardware set. Finished in black, this is a working bass built for players who want Jazz Bass tone and touch but need more tonal range on tap.
