Description
Every bassist who’s had to fight for a good sound at a venue with no backline knows the value of a DI that actually sounds like something. The SansAmp Bass Driver DI v2 isn’t a box you plug into as an afterthought – it’s the thing that shapes your tone before it even hits the board or the power amp. Dial in warm vintage tube growl, aggressive modern slap clarity, or full-on gnarly distortion, then send it out through three separate outputs to a power amp, mixer, or recording desk.
Version 2 keeps the original circuit’s soul intact but catches up with where bass has gone – a switch to shift the bass frequency down for 5- and 6-string players working the low end, plus a dedicated mid-range control with its own frequency switch. More tonal real estate, same DNA.
- Presence – dials in definition and upper harmonic content
- Drive – shapes overall gain and overdrive character
- Level – sets output for both the XLR and effected 1/4″ jacks
- Blend – mixes your raw bass signal with the SansAmp tube emulation circuit, handy for piezo-equipped basses
- Bass & Treble – active EQ tuned specifically for bass, +/-12dB cut or boost
Three outputs cover you in the studio or on stage: effected XLR, effected 1/4″, and an uneffected parallel 1/4″. A footswitch flips the tube emulation on or off, so you can drop back to a clean, transparent active DI whenever you need it. Get you in the ballpark fast with reference settings for Bassman, SVT, King’s X, Slap, Reggae, and Crimson tones – there’s even settings for Chapman Stick and acoustic guitar tucked in there.
