Description
Some rigs make you choose between tone and portability. This one doesn’t. The Micro-VR head is proof that Ampeg’s legendary Round Sound doesn’t need a giant chassis to deliver — it’s a solid-state preamp paired with a MOSFET power section pushing 200 watts at 4 ohms, wrapped in classic Ampeg styling that fits in a gig bag pocket. A 3-band EQ with Ultra Mid voicing lets you dial in everything from vintage thump to modern growl, and the balanced line out (with pre/post switching and pad) means you’re stage or studio ready without extra gear.
Paired below it, the SVT-210AV cab is the practical answer for players who love SVT tone but don’t always need SVT volume. Built on Ampeg’s Infinite Baffle design for tight, efficient low end, it houses two 10″ Eminence speakers rated at 200 watts RMS into 8 ohms. Frequency response runs 58Hz-5kHz (-3dB), with usable low end down to 40Hz — enough grunt for a bar gig, quiet enough for bleed-sensitive tracking sessions where an 8×10 would just overwhelm the room.
Together, this stack gives you real Ampeg character at a size and weight your back and your car will thank you for.
