The SVT-7PRO head weighs a laughable 15.5 lbs but throws down 1000 watts at 4 ohms (600 at 8 ohms) through a Class-D power section fed by a single JJ 12AX7 tube preamp — that’s where the actual Ampeg breathup and warmth comes from, even at this size. A 5-position mid control lets you carve your spot in the mix, Ultra Lo/Hi boosts add sparkle or thump on demand, and the onboard variable compressor keeps your low B from flopping around live. There’s also a remote-switchable FX loop, a transformer-balanced line out for the board, and removable rack ears if you’d rather run it in a case than a cab shelf.
Underneath it sits the PF-410HLF, Ampeg’s shelf-ported take on the classic Portaflex look — black diamond tolex, B-15 grille cloth, the works. Four ceramic Eminence 10″ drivers do the heavy lifting, backed by a selectable 1″ HF compression driver with its own L-pad, so you can dial in exactly how much top-end bite you want without touching the head. It’s rated for 800W RMS at 8 ohms, so the SVT-7PRO barely has to try, and the shelf-port design pushes the low end out further than a standard sealed 4×10. Built from 15mm poplar ply with integrated side handles and removable casters, it’s road-tough but still easy to roll to the van.
