Description
If you play a 5-string and want your low B to actually mean something, the Bartolini MK5CBC set is built for that job. Shaped to fit the Cort Curbow soapbar routing, both the bridge and neck pickups measure 4.24″ / 107.57mm long by 1.33″ / 33.66mm wide, so swapping into a compatible cavity is straightforward.
Each pickup uses a dual coil design tuned for weight and punch — strong lows and low-mids that hold up under drop tunings, paired with a bright treble response that keeps note attack and string definition from getting swallowed up. That balance matters most on a 5-string, where it’s easy for the B string to turn to mud if the pickup can’t keep pace.
These belong to Bartolini’s Classic Bass series, a passive pickup line designed around an extended, more resonant frequency window. Instead of the usual tradeoff between top-end air and low-end power, the Classic Bass voicing gives you more detail and openness up top without thinning out the bottom — so slap articulation, fingerstyle growl, and pick attack all come through clean.
Bartolini casts these in epoxy, which locks the coils down tight and kills off unwanted feedback and microphonic noise — useful for stage volume and high-gain rigs alike.
