If you’ve ever fought a stacked-pot preamp trying to dial in a specific low end without dragging your mids along with it, the NTMB+ GF is the fix. Bartolini built this as a single-module tone control preamp with fully independent Bass, Mid, and Treble bands — turn one, and the others stay put. That kind of separation matters when you’re chasing a specific growl or trying to cut through a dense mix without EQ fighting itself.
Sonically it stays out of the way. Noise floor is low, distortion sits under 0.001%, and the wide boost/cut range means you can go from subtle shaping to aggressive tone-shaping without the circuit falling apart. A built-in gain trim lets you match output to your pickups during setup, and because it’s one compact module, installation and wiring stays simple.
Power flexibility is a real gig advantage. Run it on a single 9-volt battery for standard 9v operation, or wire in two 9-volt batteries for 18v operation and pick up an extra 6dB of headroom — useful if your playing style or pickups tend to push the preamp hard. Current draw is modest either way: on 9v, expect roughly a month of continuous use or 6+ months of average practice/gig use; on 18v, figure 3+ weeks continuous or 4+ months average. No surprise dead batteries mid-set if you keep an eye on it.
