Description
Some overdrives just add fuzz. The Vintage Microtubes adds history – the kind of organic, slightly compressed warmth that comes from old tube heads and reel-to-reel tape, not from a chip trying to fake it. Plug in and you’ll feel it before you can even name it: notes bloom and settle the way they used to, with a natural give that responds to how hard you dig in.
- Level – sets the volume of your overdriven signal
- Drive – controls how much saturation gets baked into that signal
- Blend – mixes your clean tone (held at unity gain) with the overdrive, so you can taste-test the ratio instead of committing all at once
- Era – works together with Drive to shift the whole vibe of the pedal, from warm 70s midrange grind down low to the punchier, metallic snarl of 80s and 90s rock up top
Compact at 11.3×7.5 cm (4.45×2.95 in), it tucks onto a board without a fight, but don’t skimp on power: this thing draws 20mA and needs a regulated 9V DC center-negative adapter. No batteries – that’s intentional, for the planet’s sake – and skipping the regulated supply (or bumping the voltage) risks extra noise or real damage to the unit, which also kills your warranty.
This particular unit is a store demo – fully functional, previously used for testing and demonstration, offered at a reduced price for bassists who want that vintage tube character without paying full retail.
