If you’ve played a 4-string with EMG-P pickups, you already know the story: fat lows, punchy mids, and a presence that just sits right in a mix. The EMG-P6 takes that same design and stretches it across six strings, so wide-neck players don’t have to give up any of that signature tone.
Instead of long, series-wound coils like a passive P-bass pickup, the P6 uses short, squat coils wired for low resistance and high inductance. That means roughly double the low-end output of a passive pickup, paired with ceramic magnets that keep the top end clear and articulate. The result is a bass tone that’s powerful without being muddy — a favorite among working pros for exactly that reason.
This is a demo unit, so pricing reflects that, but the pickup itself performs like any new EMG-P6 straight out of the box.
