EMG kept the short, squat coil design that made the standard P-pickup famous, so resistance stays low and inductance stays high. Since the coils run independently instead of in series like a passive split-coil, you’re getting roughly double the low-end output straight out of the gate.
Ceramic magnets keep things articulate up top, so you’re not trading clarity for thump. The result is that signature P-bass voice bumped up a notch: deep, present lows, a midrange that pushes through a busy mix, and note definition that holds up whether you’re slapping, fingerstyle, or digging in with a pick.
