Description
The Boxer Series Precision Bass isn’t trying to be a vintage reissue – it’s built for players who want P-Bass weight with some extra bite in reserve. Fender wired a high-output P-Bass split-coil at the middle position alongside a hot Jazz Bass single-coil down at the bridge, so you get that familiar round P thump plus a snappier, more aggressive edge when you dig into the bridge pickup. Independent volume knobs let you blend the two however your ear wants – full P warmth, full J snarl, or anywhere between – while the TBX tone control gives you real range beyond a standard passive tone pot, from dark and rolled-off to bright and cutting.
On the neck, Fender went with a Medium “C”-shaped profile in maple, which keeps things comfortable whether you’ve got small hands or you’re used to chunkier necks. The 12″ fingerboard radius is flatter than old-school Fender basses, making it easier to get low action without fret buzz, and the 20 jumbo frets give you confident intonation and bending room clear up the neck.
This is a bass built for gigging players who need one instrument to cover multiple tonal jobs – rock, funk, punk, whatever the setlist throws at you – without swapping basses mid-set. The Sherwood Green finish gives it a look that stands out on stage without screaming for attention.
