Description
The Player Jaguar Bass gives you an offset silhouette with a distinctly modern feel under your hands—alder body, satin-back Modern C maple neck, and a 9.5″ radius fretboard that makes fast lines and chunky root notes feel equally natural across all 20 medium-jumbo frets. This is a bass built to be played hard, night after night.
Tonally, it’s a P/J setup done the Player Series way: an Alnico 5 single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge brings the growl and top-end bite, while the split-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle handles the fat, clear low-mid thump. Two independent volume knobs mean you’re not stuck with a fixed blend—dial in more J-pickup snarl for a cutting rock tone, lean into the P-pickup for round, vintage warmth, or run them together for a punchy hybrid voice. A single master tone knob rounds off or brightens whatever mix you land on.
Details that matter to working bassists: a synthetic bone nut and vintage-style disc string trees keep tuning stable, open-gear tuning machines give smooth, precise pitch changes, and the four-bolt neck plate with the “F” stamp is a nod to Fender’s classic build quality. The 3-ply parchment pickguard and Tidepool finish give it understated stage presence without shouting for attention.
