Description
Every bassist knows the Jazz Bass sound the second they hear it — that scooped, growly punch that sits perfectly in a mix without fighting the guitars. The Player Series version delivers it with an alder body, a Modern “C”-shaped maple neck, and a maple fingerboard that keeps your attack bright and immediate under the fingers.
Under the hood you’ve got two Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, each with its own volume knob plus a master tone control. That’s the classic Jazz Bass trick: blend the bridge and middle pickups to dial in everything from a woody, vintage thump to an aggressive, cutting slap tone — all without ever touching a pedal.
The 9.5″ radius fingerboard and 20 medium-jumbo frets make fast lines and wide stretches feel natural, whether you’re walking changes or locking into a groove. The 4-saddle bridge gives you real control over intonation and action, so you can set it up exactly how you like to play. Small details like the synthetic bone nut, vintage-style string trees, and open-gear tuners round out an instrument that feels genuinely thought-through rather than assembled from a spec sheet.
Finished in Buttercream over a gloss polyester body with a 3-ply parchment pickguard, it’s got a look that’s classic without being fussy — the kind of bass that looks as good under stage lights as it does in the studio.
