Some basses need years of gigs to earn their character. This one skips the line. Fender built the Road Worn ’50s Precision Bass to feel like it’s already survived a decade of bar bands and basement rehearsals — nitrocellulose lacquer worn thin in the right spots, hardware with a lived-in patina, and that unmistakable Fiesta Red finish looking like it’s got stories to tell.
Under the relic’d exterior, it’s built to ’50s spec through and through. The maple neck carries a chunky “C” profile with a 7.25″ radius fretboard, 20 vintage-style frets, and black dot inlays — the kind of neck that rewards a firm grip and doesn’t feel fussy under stage lights. A 1.75″ synthetic bone nut and 34″ scale keep the low end tight and the intonation honest.
Tone comes from a single split-coil Precision Bass pickup — the pickup that basically invented the sound of modern bass. Wired simply with master volume and master tone, there’s nothing to overthink here; plug in and the growl is already there. The American Vintage 4-saddle bridge and gold anodized aluminum pickguard round out the vintage-correct hardware package, finished in nickel/chrome with knurled chrome knobs.
Strung with Fender USA Super Bass 7250ML strings (.045–.100), it’s ready to go straight out of the deluxe gig bag included with purchase — no setup drama, just a bass that sounds like it’s already earned its place on the road.
