Description
The GK CX115 takes the single-15 format and makes it hit way above its weight class. GK’s in-house engineers built this driver from scratch specifically for this enclosure, using an edge-wound 2-inch aluminum voice coil manufactured at the GK USA factory. The result is a 15″ speaker that responds fast and punches hard, none of the sluggish, boomy character you’d expect from a lower-cost single-15.
Inside, the cabinet is chambered so the speaker gets its own isolated space, cutting down on internal standing waves and keeping sound from bleeding through the cabinet walls and muddying your tone. GK also tuned the port specifically for this driver and lined it with a jute-blend damping material, dialing in exactly the right amount of control at exactly the right frequencies. You get low-end that stays defined instead of flopping around.
On the gig side, this cabinet is built for actual working bassists. The Sure Lock foot-and-corner system means stacked cabs lock together instead of sliding around on stage. Tough vinyl covering with metal corner protection keeps it road-ready, and flip-grip side handles plus a compact footprint make it genuinely easy to load in and out. A three-position tweeter attenuator lets you dial in your top-end presence, and you’ve got a pro twist-lock speaker connector alongside a standard 1/4″ input for flexibility.
