Description
Some heads make you choose between tone and your spine. The MB500 doesn’t. It’s fewer than 4 lb, eats up less than a single rackspace, and still puts out 500W of the punchy, articulate low-end GK players have chased for decades. Small footprint, no compromise.
The tone-shaping is where this head earns its keep for gigging bassists. GK’s 4-band active EQ gives you real control over your low, low-mid, high-mid, and high frequencies, and the contour switch scoops the mids for that classic slap-friendly growl when you want it. When a song calls for more grit, the footswitchable boost channel adds independent volume and drive so you can jump from clean and round to aggressive and biting without touching a knob mid-song.
Routing options make it flexible for stage and studio work alike. There’s an XLR direct out with a pre-/post-EQ selector and ground lift for clean signal to the board, a tuner out with mute so you can tune silently between songs, an effects loop, and a headphone/line out for quiet practice or recording. Dual Speakon outputs let you run multiple cabs without hassle.
