Ellefson didn’t just lend his name to this bass — he shaped it. The CB-X Concert Bass is designed for players who dig in hard and need the low end to keep up, whether you’re locked into a double-bass kick pattern or riding a groove. The alder body wears a gloss Black finish that looks right at home under stage lights, and the shape sits comfortably whether you’re standing all night or bracing against a wedge.
The bolt-on quartersawn maple neck gets an oiled finish and ivoroid binding for a neck that feels broken-in from day one, while the compound-radius (12″ to 16″) rosewood fingerboard flattens out as you climb, so fast runs up high don’t fight you the way a fixed-radius board can. Jumbo frets and pearloid shark fin inlays make position-finding fast in a dark room, and the 21-fret board rides a comfortable 34″ scale with a 1.625″ nut width.
Tone comes from a matched pair of EMG active humbuckers — HZ35N in the neck, HZ35B in the bridge — driven through an EMG BEQ3 active preamp. Five knobs (volume, three-band EQ, and blend) give you real shaping power on the fly, from scooped slap tone to a growling, mid-forward pick attack. A high-mass four-saddle bridge and black hardware keep things stable and stealthy, and the truss rod cover carries Ellefson’s silver Fallout logo, along with the ivoroid-bound headstock and 90s-style Jackson logo.
