The JS3Q Concert Bass is Jackson’s answer to bassists who need serious low-end punch on a budget. Under that quilt maple top sits a poplar body — light on your shoulder during long sets, but resonant enough to keep the tone full and woody. It’s a working bass, plain and simple.
The bolt-on maple neck gets graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint for stability, plus white binding that dresses it up a bit. Jackson’s compound radius rosewood board (12″-16″) runs flatter as you climb, so low-position chording feels comfortable while high-fret runs stay easy to fret cleanly. Twenty-four jumbo frets mean you’ve got the real estate to dig in up top, with pearloid sharkfin inlays marking your way.
Tone-wise, this is where the JS3Q earns its keep: two covered high-output humbuckers deliver a thick, aggressive low-end growl, and the high-mass bridge keeps everything locked down and stable string-to-string. You get independent volume for each pickup plus an active 3-band EQ, so you can dial in anything from a scooped slap tone to a fat, mid-forward pick sound.
