The MAX 112 is Peavey’s answer to bassists who need real stage volume without hauling a fridge to the gig. Pushing 200 watts into 8 ohms through a single heavy-duty 12″ speaker in a tuned, ported cabinet, it puts out low end that feels bigger than its 40-pound frame suggests. DDT speaker protection watches your back so you can dig in without babysitting the volume knob.
Peavey’s patented TransTube circuitry lives in the pre-gain stage, giving you a boost option when you want your tone to grow some teeth — think overdriven passages or just cutting through a loud drummer. The 3-band EQ is joined by Punch, Mid-shift, and Bright switches, so dialing in anything from a scooped slap tone to a growling pick sound doesn’t take a manual. There’s also Peavey’s psycho-acoustic low-end enhancement, which thickens up the bottom end without pushing the speaker past what it can handle — more low end, not more strain.
Practical touches round it out: a built-in chromatic tuner for quick checks between songs, an XLR direct output with ground lift for going straight to the board, and 1/8″ jacks for headphone practice or plugging in a phone/aux source to jam along.
