Description

If you love the sound of a vintage Jazz Bass but can’t stand fighting hum every time you step near a dimmer switch or stage light, the STK-J1 is the fix. Seymour Duncan stacked the coils to cancel noise while keeping the tone that made those old single coils legendary — present highs that never get harsh, a smooth midrange, and a low end that sits with authority instead of flabbing out.

This is the bridge-position unit, and it’s wound slightly hot compared to its neck counterpart so the two sides of your Jazz Bass balance in output rather than one overpowering the other. Built by hand in Santa Barbara, it uses alnico 5 rod magnets, Forbon flatwork, and 4-conductor leadwire, then gets vacuum wax potted so you won’t get squeal even when you dig in hard on stage.

A drop-in swap for any 4-string Fender American Standard Jazz Bass bridge pickup — no routing, no modification.

  • Noiseless stacked-coil design based on the classic 60s Jazz Bass tone
  • Slightly overwound for easier output matching with the neck pickup
  • Alnico 5 magnets, Forbon flatwork, 4-conductor wiring
  • Vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance
  • American Standard width — not compatible with Mexican Standard routing (both slots there are neck-sized)
  • Pair with the Classic Stack Jazz Bass neck pickup for a matched set

Note: this is the bridge pickup only. Check your bass’s pickup cavity size before ordering if you’re unsure which body it uses.
