Description
There’s a reason the Jazz Bass tone has stuck around for decades, and this Vintage Modified model gives you a real taste of it without draining your gear budget. Two Fender-designed single-coil J pickups sit in that familiar SS layout, so you get everything from a round, woody thump with the neck pickup solo’d to that snarly, cutting midrange when you blend both toward the bridge. Roll the tone knob back for old-school P.O.G.-style thump, or open it up for slap and pop clarity — this bass covers a lot of ground.
The neck is where a lot of players notice the difference right away. It’s a slim C-shaped maple neck with a vintage-tint gloss finish, mated to a 9.5-inch radius laurel fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets. Chords, fast runs, and big stretches all feel more manageable than you’d expect at this price point. A 1.5-inch synthetic bone nut and white dot inlays round out a neck built for real playing, not just looking good on a stand.
Underneath it all is a basswood body finished in classic 3-color sunburst, paired with a tortoiseshell pickguard for that unmistakable vintage look. Hardware stays true to form with a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge, open-gear tuners, and chrome knurled control knobs — all finished in chrome for a clean, road-ready appearance.
