Description
If you’ve ever wanted a P-Bass that could also snarl like a Jazz, this is the answer. Squier’s Vintage Modified Precision Bass PJ pairs a Fender-designed split single-coil Precision pickup in the middle position with a ceramic-magnet single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge. Roll into the P alone for that fat, rounded thump players have built entire genres on, or blend in the bridge pickup for a brighter, more aggressive edge when a mix needs to cut through.
The maple neck wears a Modern C profile that fills the hand without feeling bulky, running into a 9.5″-radius Laurel fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets and simple dot inlays — fast, comfortable, and built for long sets. A 4-bolt neck plate keeps things locked in tight, while the vintage-style bridge with single-groove saddles and open-gear tuners give you old-school looks and dependable, no-fuss tuning stability.
Controls are kept straightforward: independent volume knobs for the middle and bridge pickups plus a master tone, all on dome-style knobs mounted through a 3-ply black pickguard. The agathis body wears a classic 3-Color Sunburst under a polyurethane finish, backing up the vintage vibe with real gig-ready durability.
