Description
The StingRay tone has been a foundation of bass sound for decades, and this RAY5 brings that unmistakable growl to a five-string platform without pricing you out. A single ceramic humbucker paired with a 9v active 2-band preamp gives you the scoop-and-punch character StingRay players chase, whether you’re locking into a groove or cutting through a dense mix live.
The basswood body wears a Vintage Sunburst Satin finish over a black pickguard – understated on stage, but it lets the tone do the talking. A hard maple neck and matching maple fingerboard deliver a bright, snappy attack that keeps low B strings from turning to mud, while the 12″ fingerboard radius and medium 22-fret setup make fast lines and chord work feel natural under your hand. Neck width sits at 1.77″ at the nut, so the extra string doesn’t feel like you’re wrestling a plank.
Under the hood, a 6-bolt neck attachment and single-action truss rod keep things stable and adjustable, while the fixed bridge is built heavy-duty and fully adjustable for intonation and action tweaks as your setup evolves. Open gear tuners round out the hardware for smooth, precise tuning at the headstock.
